About Trina Liggins

Hailing from the region best known for its barbecue and jazz heritage, Trina Liggins spent her early years in Kansas City, MO before moving to Omaha, NE, St. Louis, MO and finally settling in the Washington metro area.  Trina boasts a 20-year career in media at Urban One, formerly known as Radio One, Inc., the largest African-American owned multi-media company primarily targeting Black and urban audiences.  She held numerous roles including promotions director, digital operations manager and corporate creative director.

Even though she enjoyed a successful career as a media professional, Trina never
abandoned her love for cooking, which was inspired by the local cuisine that shaped her childhood. Her passion for food was cemented in her early 20’s when she took a job as a line cook at Red Lobster. She would later hone her culinary skills by watching popular cooking shows including Beat Bobby Flay, Top Chef, Master Chef and Hell’s Kitchen.

In 2017, Trina began merging her passion for food with the medicinal and healing properties of Cannabis, leading to the launch of Black Girl Infused, a beauty and wellness company that incorporates Full Spectrum CBD into some its products, as well as infused edibles.  In 2021, she left Urban One to focus solely on Black Girl Infused and hasn’t looked back.  She was recently a featured Cannabis Chef at the 2021 Oklahoma Green Grow Fest and has appeared at numerous Cannabis events throughout the northeast region. 

A graduate of University of Maryland Global Campus with a B.A. in Marketing and Minor in Web Technology & Design, Trina is currently enrolled at the University of Maryland’s Master’s in Medical Cannabis Science & Therapeutics Program. She is also pursuing a Business of Cannabis certification from St. Joseph’s University.

Trina is also actively involved on the Boards of several local community organizations, including the Sally Bell Breast Cancer Foundation and the Burton & Craig Shields Foundation.She currently resides in Maryland with her family.
